Douglas has been at the forefront of technical innovation that has in turn created award-winning film across the entire spectrum of genres.     Douglas recently teamed with director Jeremiah Chechik for the FX Cable Feature Meltdown. The Republic of Love, the feature Douglas filmed for director Deepa Mehta was selected for a Gala Premier at the recent Toronto International Film Festival. This was a successful follow up of their first collaboration, Bollywood/Hollywood. The feature Last Night, directed by Don McKellar was the winner of the Prix de la Jeunesse at Cannes, an award one of his first films, I’ve Heard The Mermaids Singing by Patricia Rozema was also honoured with.     Douglas continues to break new ground in the commercial world for spots that range from elaborate car shoots for Ford, Jeep and Chrysler to intimate and personal performances in spots for Levis, Sprite, Clarica, Budweiser and Fugi. Douglas has also been behind the camera for the Cannes award winning commercial for Halls, the Gold Bessie spot for AGF and a CSC Award for Saturday Night at the Movies.     Douglas’ passion for the craft of cinematography and his artistic collaboration as a filmmaker have become hallmarks for his work.
